My name is Zion (they/them) and I am an interdisciplinary artist mainly working with graphic design and tattooing - My piece titled In The Garden was inspired by the feelings of safety and nourishment that a garden can give, and the feeling of peace that comes from sitting beside fresh, live, healthy produce. With lots of help from Vivienne and Derya we were able to mount the digital work onto a board and install it at Sahalli Park Community garden. As a Black/Mixed trans person of colour it was really important for me to represent those identities in this digital painting. While working on this project, I was able to connect with some really wonderful folks and learn about their garden practices and it was incredible to be so welcomed into this space.
