Over several Saturdays throughout the growing season, Garden Don’t Care artist collective members and collaborators from Looking at the Garden Fence members came to Harmony garden to support infrastructure upgrades, in particular gravel paths and accessible raised beds so that elders in the community could participate easily in growing food. Cease ↗ shared ways of growing a decentralized land based practice, being in relation to the land, working with indigenous plants and resting. In sharing these practices with us, Cease ↗ has been a mentor for all the artists working on Looking at the Garden Fence project.
Harmony Garden is located in X̱wemelch'stn / Squamish Nation Capilano Reserve and is one of the four gardens across Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territories where our project Looking at the Garden Fence grew, worked and rested.
